Volvo has announced today that it will introduce its first plug-in hybrid by 2012. Pure electric power from the battery will cover the daily transport needs of 75 percent of European drivers. For longer distances, an efficient diesel hybrid engine automatically takes over. The combined range is about 1200 kilometres. Carbon dioxide emissions will average out at 49 grams per kilometre, with fuel consumption of 1.9 litres per 100 km.

"The new Volvo plug-in will be a truly enjoyable car to drive, featuring Volvo's high safety and comfort standards. At the same time, CO2 levels and fuel consumption will be as low as half that available on the market today." says Stephen Odell, President and CEO of Volvo Car Corporation.

Buick LaCrosse 2012
The 2012 Buick LaCrosse powerplant consists of a 2.4L Ecotec direct-injected four-cylinder engine paired with next-generation six-speed automatic transmission. Using the advanced power storage from its air-cooled lithium-ion battery, needed electrical boost can be utilized in various driving scenarios to optimize the engine and transmission. McLaren F1 20th Anniversary
McLaren is celebrating the 20th anniversary for McLaren F1, the fastest normally aspirated production road car. McLaren F1 GTR secured McLaren’s position as the only car manufacturer to win the Formula 1 World Championship, Indianapolis 500 and Le Mans 24 Hours. MINI Cooper has presented at this year's Frankfurt Auto Show the new Mini Roadster concept. The Mini Roadster concept is a two seater with a soft-top might possibly be powered by the 1.6-litre twin-scroll turbocharged engine already featured in the MINI Cooper S. Boasting direct gasoline injection, this superior power unit delivers maximum output of 128 kW/175 hp and peak torque of 240 Newton-metres/177 lb-ft increasing briefly with the Overboost function to an even more superior 260 Newton-metres/192 lb-ft.

Brabus is now manufacturing an all around customization package for the new 2011 Mercedes Benz SLK. For the engine Brabus offers the B20 CGI performance kit chip, producing a 26 horsepower increase to the already 204 horsepower engine. Brabus is also manufacturing a stage 2 kit for an additional 10 horsepower. The stage 2 kit consists of an electronically controlled sport wastegate valve and larger intercooler. Engine upgrades give the Mercedes Benz SLK superior pulling power from low end speeds. With 4 tailpipes, the Brabus sport exhaust produces a high flow throaty roar that is sure to be noticed. Exterior aerodynamic styling options include a rear wing, front lip spoiler, and rear diffuser. Each of these options helps to reduce lift in the rear while creating less downforce on the front axle. This is particularly beneficial for directional stability at high speeds. Brabus 20 inch monoblock F wheels in liquid titanium color are mounted, and specially designed springs help lower the vehicle around 1.2 inches. Brabus also offers a variety of interior styling options, from high gloss scuff plates and aluminum pedals, to upholstery in Mastik leather and Alcantara.

The Infiniti FX35 includes an automatic 7 speed transmission and electronically controlled throttle system tuned specifically to the FX35’s characteristics. The engine achieves a better mileage rating for both short and long distance drives. Infiniti has released a new exterior color option (Graphite Shadow), and offers consumers a variety of new safety technologies based on each of the four models. The four different models include the FX50 AWD with 5.0-liter V8, FX35 AWD with 3.5-liter V6, FX35 RWD with 3.5-liter V6, and FX Limited Edition with 3.5-liter V6. The Limited Edition model comes with Intelligent All Wheel Drive, Continuous Damping Control, Rear Active Steer, and Intelligent Brake Assist. Limited Editions also include 21 inch wheels with all around disk brakes. Infiniti gives the FX35 consumer a variety of special equipment packages developed for each individual taste.

Audi released details about its all-new Audi Q3 2012 which will go on sale in summer this year. Audi Q3, a compact premium SUV, comes with 3 engine options: 1 TDI & 2 TFSI. Audi Q3 will come standard with 2.0 TDI engine with 140 hp and FWD and will have a fuel economy of 45 US mpg. Its basic price in Germany will be 29,900 euros.
