Marco Simoncelli has died.Marco Simoncelli pictures


Italian participant Marco Simoncelli has passed away after a dreadful collision at the Malaysian MotoGP in Sepang.




The competition was ceased on lap two when Simoncelli's motorcycle veered across the monitor at convert 11 into the direction of Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi.


The 24-year-old had his headgear broken off and was hit by both other drivers.

American participant Edwards also dropped and dislocated his fretboard - while Simoncelli's other German Rossi was able to come back to the leaves.

Simoncelli lay still on the monitor after the effect, while the competition was instantly red-flagged.



Medical manager Michele Macchiagodena said Simoncelli experienced a "very serious tension to the go, to the fretboard and the chest".

At first authorities were looking to reboot the competition before the level of Simoncelli's accidents became apparent.

The competition was ended amongst misunderstandings in the grandstand, with lovers putting wines to demonstrate their preliminary discomfort.



The loss of life is the first death in MotoGP since Japan's Daijiro Katoh passed away from accidents continual at the 2003 Western GP while, last season, Japan's Shoya Tomizawa passed away in a identical collision to Simoncelli in a Moto2 competition in San Marino.

Simoncelli's loss of life comes per weeks time after English IndyCar car owner Dan Wheldon was murdered in Las Nevada following a 15-car collision.
