The all new second generation 2012 BMW 1 Series can be found with a variety of power plants fed by both gas and diesel fuel. Both include new BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology. The BMW 1 Series is the first car in its class with an optional 8 speed automatic transmission and rear wheel drive. Offering the perfect combination of sporty yet fuel efficient vehicles, the BMW 118i gives drivers a 170 horsepower engine with a combined mpg rating of 49.5. The 116i’s 4-cylinder produces 136 horsepower with a 0-60 time of less than 8 seconds. Although part of the compact segment, the BMW 1 Series offers sleek lines paired with an aggressive stance. The front of the car is accented by the large kidney shaped radiator grill and boldly shaped headlights. The interior offers an innovative range of features and equipment, plus more room than previous year models. Suspension upgrades make this car a dream to handle compared to other 5 door compact models.
